YMF is offering two PE review courses:

ASCE YMF Fall PE Review

NOTE: The Water Chemistry/Groundwater class was postponed until March 26.

The ASCE Las Vegas Younger Member Forum (YMF) is pleased to provide a Civil P.E. Review Course for the NCEES P.E. Exam. YMF has provided this course for the past several years. The course includes detailed presentations by experienced Professional Engineers.

COURSE DATES:

January 23, 30
  February 6, 13, 20, 27
  March 5, 12, 19

TIME: 7:00 to 9:00 PM

LOCATION: UNLV TBE A107

CONTACT: Please RSVP to Kimberly Lowe (702-266-8062 or klowe@brwncald.com).

COST: If you RSVP and pay for the entire course by January 20, 2012, you will receive a $25 discount on the prices listed below, in addition to ensuring availability of NCEES materials and a spot. Otherwise, payment is due at the beginning of the first class, whereby the NCEES materials or a spot cannot be assured (first come, first served). There are no fees for persons who have taken these courses before and would like to take them again in preparation for the P.E. Exam. If you do not RSVP, we cannot guarantee you a spot (even repeat attendees).

ASCE Members: $200 for all courses, or $25 for individual courses (must present current ASCE card or member number with payment).

Non-Members: $300 for all courses, or $35 for individual courses (to become a member, go online to: http://www.asce.org/membership/join_renew.cfm).

"All courses" cost includes one copy of NCEES Civil Engineering Sample Questions and Solutions book and 1 CD-ROM, along with notes and handouts from presenters. Individual course cost includes notes and handouts from presenters, but does not include the NCEES materials. The NCEES materials may be purchased for $55 each. “All courses” cost will not be pro-rated.

NOTE: You can now take the P.E. Exam right after graduation with an approved B.S. in engineering and an E.I. certificate, and get it out of the way--before you start working in Nevada. Once you've put your four years of experience in, then you can become licensed. If you are planning for professional licensure in other states, you should check their requirements before taking the Nevada P.E. Exam early, so you won't jeopardize your eligibility there. Applications for the Nevada P.E. Exam and further information can be found online at: http://boe.state.nv.us/. The Fall PE Exam is April 13, 2012.

There are some updates to the NCEES book that is being used for this course. Please download the errata for discussion.
